Wedding Wednesday

This is what I'm pulling wedding inspiration from lately...

I absolutely love these sourdough BLT bites. I'm currently thinking I want everything to be bite sized and finger foods at my reception.

I absolutely love this dress for bridesmaids...I just wish it were a little longer.

I'm totally digging the ruffles on this wedding cake. I haven't quite sold Jacob on the idea of ruffles yet though. haha

Feeling...so completely content with life. It's so good :)
Weather...It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Needing...to start on some wedding plans. Like whoa.
Wanting...a new handbag. I have found one...but it's just too much for me to splurge on with an upcoming wedding. For reals.
Thinking...about the wedding now. I can't wait to be Mrs. Jacob Russell.

Wedding Wednesday

Well, my wedding is only 395 more days until I get married!!

I know that seems like a LONG long long long long time, but I'm kinda freaking out just a little bit. haha

I guess I've just been thinking about the specifics a LOT more lately.

And then I begin to think about the guest list, and I completely freak out!

I've already got Granny and Amy working on their lists for their families, people in Kentucky, and people in Albertville. After combining those people with all of my guests, I'm afraid the wedding may get pretty big.

No biggie. It just means we're well loved, right? :)

So, today I am going to spend my free time thinking about ideas and making lists.

I've got a little over a year.

I can totally do this.

Affirmations and Discoveries

This weekend was full of affirmations and discoveries for me.

My weekends are just seeming to get better and better. One right after the other.

I'm not even going to list the things that were discovered or affirmed in seperate lists, because they're all equally wonderful. 

• a filet tastes best when it's cooked at home
• my hubby to be is so much fun to shop with
• he's also super generous (one of his best and most endearing qualities)
• being an aunt gives me so much more joy than I ever thought it would
• a deal makes me happy
• as does warm weather
• there's nothing like good friends...that's irreplaceable (sorry if you're now singing Beyonce for the rest of the day!)
• Sunday afternoons at Gran's are the perfect way to wrap up a weekend

A Bit Different

If I had been a boy, Mom and Dad wanted to name me Richard Anthony. Thank the good Lord above that I was a girl!!

What is your favorite book of all time? Gone with the Wind. I've seriously read it at least 2 dozen times. I may start it again...kindle version. It's soooo wonderfully packed with detail. I honestly feel like I'm living Scarlett O'Hara's life.

If you could have lunch with one celebrity, who would it be and why? Emma Watson. Come on. Who doesn't wanna have lunch with Hermione?

Did you go Greek in college? If so, which house? Negative. Thank goodness.

Sweet or salty? salty

Do you prefer to make a phone call or send a text? Text. I loathe talking on the phone. It seems like such a chore to me. Weird?

What is your favorite flower? hydrangeas and peonies

Did you have an American Girl doll as a child? Oh my goodness. If I had to sum up my childhood in two words, they'd be, 'American Girl.' I have Addy, Josephina, Felicity, and Kit. If it weren't a ridiculous notion, I'd still get one every year for Christmas. No joke.

What is your favorite white wine and favorite red wine varietal? Let me just go ahead and get this out there...I love wine. I know nothing about wine. I like both red and white. Wine is Wine. Wine=good.

What is your favorite quote? It's a Bible verse...An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.

Feeling...contemplative. I've had a lot of things to consider today.

Weather...dreary dreary manic Monday
Needing...a mani/pedi (even though I hate actually paying for them because I can do most of the work at home.)
Wanting...a good bag. And by bag, I mean purse. I just can't find the perfect one at a reasonable price.

Thinking...about the future a LOT. Jacob and I are joining Willowbrook, and I'm trying to figure out where I can serve and get plugged in.
Enjoying...every day. Cause you never know when we might get another tomorrow, right?

Just a Couple Questions

1.  You are stranded in the scariest city in Europe for five days (I'm sure you've visited said city).  You have only 3 things in your purse.  What MUST these three things be? I've never been to Europe, though I hope to travel there sometime while the in-laws are living in Nottingham. Hmmm...I would want endless amounts of cash, my cellular device, and my best friend. Those would be three good things to have, right? I mean, with that endless amounts of cash you could buy whatever else you could need.


2.  You get married and give birth to twins!  A boy and a girl -- what are their names?  If these are my first born children, the little girl is Israel Lynn (called Izzy Lynne) and the little boy is Henry (no middle name picked out yet). There you have it...Izzy Lynne Russell and Henry Russell. So sweet!! Can I have them now? And can they please have Jacob's hair? :)


3.  Oh, no.  Your mom's cooking skills have suddenly been limited to making/baking ONE thing.  The good thing is, it's your favorite... so what is it?  rice with chicken...she puts greek seasoning and onions and peppers in with it...and it's delicious. Trust me.
 
4.  Someone walks up to you with one billion dollars and says you have one day to spend this on whatever you want -- after 24 hours, you don't have access to it any more.  What do you do for the day?  I would buy a house on Lake Guntersville, a house in Huntsville, and a house in Gulf Shores. Purely by sight and recommendations from friends. I would then go to the nearest  shopping mecca and buy everything I want (keep in mind, I would buy for EVERYONE). I would build my parents' church a new church. I'd give a ton of money to Kayla and Will Brumbeloe for Kure4Kamryn. I'd make sure all of my nearest and dearest were out of debt, and I'd buy myself a store front and order enough supplies to stock it with however much money I had left. Oh, and I might buy a Nascar racing team. I'm for real. And the Atlanta Braves.
 
5.  What is one thing you wish you could do or be that you are quite sure will never happen?  I would love to be mayor of Guntersville. It might happen down the road...unless I fall in love with Huntsville.
 
6.  What food do you truly despise?  mayonnaise. Nuf said.
 
7.  Where’s the best place you’ve ever visited? New Orleans...I love it!
 
8.  If you could have the starring role in any musical, what would it be?  Elphaba in Wicked

9.  As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?  An orthopedic surgeon :)

10.  What colors are your nails painted? All but my left pointer are clear. The left pointer is purple. It's always a different color than the rest of my nails. I've been doing that for going on 4 years now.


11.  What is your worst fear?  Failure. Doesn't everyone fear that?


12.  If you could only wear one color for the rest of your life, what would it be?  Black. Black. Black.
