I know it's the middle of the week, but here is my weekend update.
Better late than never, right? (Besides you were bored with everyone else's weekend updates by now, weren't you? *hint* The correct answer to that question is Yes. Yes, I was getting very bored!!)
Without further ado...here's what happened over my weekend :)
I'm gonna start the weekend on Thursday night. 'Why?' you ask. Because I had a mini girls night that included dinner. Cassie, Erica, Jamie and I met up Thursday evening at Papa Dubi's for some cajun cooking and a little girl talk. It was absolutely delightful. We caught up, stuffed our bellies (I even had some Reese's Pie for dessert!!), and watched the snow swirl around us. I am always in a great mood after seeing my girls. It just seems to rejuvenate my spirits somehow. And Cassie...let me just tell you...that girl makes me giggly on all levels. She is hilarious!
Jacob had to work Friday evening, so I hung out with Mom. When I got off work, we headed to Boaz for a little shopping. After a rather depressing and unsuccessful shopping trip, Mom and I headed to Walmart for salad stuff. We'd both been craving a delicious salad for dinner. Wanna know what's in a delicious salad? I'll tell you: Spinach leaves, arugula, tomatoes, croutons, sunflower seeds, boiled eggs, bacon bits, radishes, cucumbers, cheese (lots of cheese!), green onions, basil leaves, and white onion. I recommend you top it with the dressing of your choice. Trust me...it's delicious! While at Walmart getting supplies, we ran into an old friend of mine and his girlfriend. It was awesome getting to catch up with him because it had been forever. Literally...like 2 years. That's forever in my book. The rest of my Friday evening was spent just hanging and repainting my nails. It was devine.
Saturday was spent in almost the same fashion as Friday evening. Mom and I went shopping downtown (I may or may not have snagged a couple of gifts for a certain someone) and then spent the day hanging out at home. Jacob came down around one and we went to visit his sister, Ashley, and her husband, Decota, and daughter, Corbyn. After visiting, we heading to Birmingham to meet Erica, Dee, Cooley, Ben, Hannah, BR, and Brittany for dinner at Jim and Nick's. Okay, so I've never had Jim and Nick's before, but it was sooooo good!! I even tried their house beer which was so tasty. After dinner, we headed back to BR and Brittany's to hang out. The girls piled on Brittany and BR's bed to watch the Miss America pageant (Hello, Alabama!! What were you thinking with that bow?! And Miss Florida was my favorite. Beautiful asian!) while the boys stayed in the living room to watch football. Afterwards, the boys started playing cards and us girls played Just Dance on the wii. Let me just tell you now, that's a freaking workout!! Hannah took lots of pictures and videos of us dancing and I can't wait to see them. I am sure they're hysterical.
Sunday I went with Erica and Betty to Alfred Angelo's to look for Erica's wedding dress. Oh my goodness!!! She found it. It is the most stunning thing I have ever seen her in. It seriously brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait to see her in the dress on her wedding day. :)Afterwards, we had Jason's Deli for lunch and went shopping at Belk. I got the four most awesome pairs of earrings AND a ballin' red maxi skirt for almost nothing. Suffice it to say...I felt like my weekend was then complete!
Sunday after was spent at my Gran's and watching the Golden Globes. Monday was spent resting, suffering thru a doctor's appointment, and hanging with my sweetness. It was a fantastic weekend overall. I just love long ones!
The weekend in a few snapshots:
left: a real life Sons of Anarchy biker at Papa Dubis! (Jacob and I love that show!!) right: my ballin' Friday night salad
just a snapshot of some early morning light
this shot made me think of the old hymn, 'At the cross, at the cross, where I first saw the light...'
I just love my early mornings...
While Mom and I were shopping Saturday, she definitely locked her keys in her car. Because it's a newer model, the police officers couldn't even get the door lock to work, so he had to pop the trunk. Yes. My mother definitely crawled thru the trunk to get the doors unlocked. It was hilarious.
Yummy salad and tomato basil soup at Jason's Deli.
Erica made me pose with Jacob before we left the bridal boutique. And yes, they do sell Bella's wedding dress at Alfred Angelo. *Excuse the roots. They are did now :)*
I enjoyed loooooots of glasses of chocolate milk over the weekend.
It always makes my belly :)
