The Big 2-5

This weekend just so happened to be the weekend I turned the BIG TWO FIVE. That's right. I'm 25 now. Don't worry, I'm not having TOO hard a time dealing with it (okay...it's killing me. Seriously. Twenty-five is scarily close to THIRTY. No? You'd feel the same way, right? Tell me it's true!!). I've been blessed for twenty-five wonderful years. I honestly believe that this past year (the year of being 24) has been my best yet. Even though I'm getting closer to 30, I know that this year will be even better than the last.

So, you're wondering what I did to celebrate, aren't you?

Here goes...

Let's start the birthday celebrations on last Tuesday. Last Tuesday happened to be my Uncle Greg's 50th birthday. Because I spent my birthday weekend in Auburn, my family took us out to eat at Connors for our birthdays. Oh. Em. Gee. If you've ever had the chance to eat at a Connors, you should. I'm telling you...that's the BEST steak you will ever put in your mouth!!

Friday, I left work early, and Jacob and I cranked the Stang and headed to The Loveliest Village on the Plains. Everytime I go back to Auburn, it makes me so very happy! Jacob and I immediately headed to Laredo's for some Mexican cuisine to meet several of our friends. Included in the list were, Katherine, Gary, Aimee and Tyler, Ben and Hannah, Roeder, and Blake. After dinner, we all decided to pretty much call it an evening. We're getting old (Hello!! The BIG 25!! Do you notice a theme? haha). Jacob and I went back to Aimee and Tyler's new house. They were so generous to put us up for the weekend. Sincerely, best HOST and HOSTESS EVER! Their house is completely adorable and soooo suited to Da Motos. Seriously. You walk in and say, 'Hey! This is a house built for Aimee and Tyler.' That evening before bed, Aimee baked me cookies, lit a candle, stuck it in one, and she, Tyler, and Jacob sang me 'Happy Birthday.' It was completely sweet. And so simple, but so appreciated.

Saturday started super early. Jacob and I had secured student tickets for the Auburn vs. Mississippi State game. We had to be at the stadium at 9:30 ready to endure the game. When the game ended with an Auburn win, at 3:30, we left the stadium stoked, exhausted, sunburnt, and thirsty. War Eagle! :) We went back to Aimee and Tyler's, showered, and just rested before my birthday dinner.

We eventually pulled ourselves out of our lazy state and headed to meet friends at the Irish Bred Pub in Opelika. It's one of my favorite places to eat when we go down to Auburn because they have Woodchuck on draft. So, after stuffing my belly with spinach dip, potato skins, fish & chips and a couple of Woodchucks, we headed to Quixote's for some drinks and music. It was a PERFECT birthday evening, no doubt. It was just laidback enough to still remain exciting.

We ended our weekend in Auburn with lunch at Loco's with Aimee, Tyler, Wilson, Jon, Josh, and Blake. It was an amazing weekend, no doubt. Jacob and I really enjoy our car rides home from Auburn on Sunday evenings/afternoons. It makes us really appreciate conversation and quiet time with each other.

Twenty-five has been GREAT so far. Hopefully, it will be even greater than twenty-four! :)
