Fall...

...it's almost here, right?

Well, maybe not technically, but when school starts back...I'm always gearing up for fall weather. And that means FALL outfits.

Here are my latest outfit inspirations from Pinterest (where else?).

As you can see, there's a definite theme of skinnies. What I loved most about all these pins is that I have those pieces in my closet already. On the list to get for the fall: RED SKINNIES.

Umm...in love with the above combination.

I'm sure you've all seen the necklace above. J.crew has made these necklaces all the RAGE. My birthday is in 2 weeks and I believe I'm getting a couple! So pumped to see what colors the giver has chosen!

Wedding Wednesday

I'm back!! Maybe? haha I know I haven't blogged in a good almost THREE months, but this summer has been a whirlwind. If it's any indication of the 8 months to come...time is going to fly by. I promise to try to get back into the regular habit of blogging again.

So, without further ado, a Wedding Wednesday post. This list is something that I think will be more than applicable not only in my married life, but in my dating/engaged life up until the wedding.

1. Marriage is made up of two good forgivers. Because every marriage is made up of two sinners. (Romans 3:23)

2. At some point, you will have to learn that life isn’t all about you. (Philippians 2:3)

3. Don’t listen to women that tell you that passion fades…it doesn’t have to! (um…all of Song of Solomon)

4. Don’t give up. Love never fails. (1 Cor. 13)

5. He wants a kind wife, not a maid or another mother. Be nice. (Galatians 5:22-23)

6. Give your husband the gift of your respect. He needs it more than you know. (Ephesians 5:33)

7. Be mindful of your expectations.

8. Honor the Lord above all things. Colossians 3: 17

9. Find your worth and security in the Lord, and don’t look to your husband to meet all of your needs.

10. Be very careful about reading romance novels, they set you up for an unrealistic view of romance.

11. Real romance is finding that one spot in the crook of his arm to snuggle into, that shared look over the dinner table when the kids are acting crazy, and the way he fixes the leaky sink when he is dog-tired after work.

12. Love is about relationship. The more I love my husband, and seek a relationship with him, the less critical and duty-bound I become. It is similar to my relationship with God.

13. Be thankful for the husband you have. Accept him as he is, not for what you want him to be.

14. Don’t compare!! Don’t buy into the game of comparing him with anyone else’s husband.

15.The Biblically “normal” marriage is filled with joy, connection, laughter, and peace. It’s not free of hurt feelings and conflict, but they know how to process their pain with one another so that they live more often in a meadow than at the scene of a train wreck. This is not the average marriage, but it normal – -because it is a visible display of Jesus’ relationship with His bride (Ephesians 5:22-33).

16. Your marriage is a testimony! “The #1 evangelistic tool in America (the world) today is a successful marriage, because it’s a living miracle!” – Dr. Joe Aldrich, former president of Multnomah Bible College.

17. Pray for your marriage. Pray hard.

18.I’ve heard that is gets better with age.

19. Where there is God, there is always hope. Even for the most broken marriages. “With God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)

20.Marriage is commitment and sacrifice. But it’s also the best, most wild ride you will ever have with your best friend.

Tuning in on Tuesday

In honor of the finale week of American Idol...

Sorry I haven't been much of a blogger later. I promise I just need a teensy break.

Cause who doesn't need some Nelly on a Tuesday?

Currently

Listening...Marsha eat and Amanda make phone calls

Eating...absolutely nothing. I just finished a microwaveable stuffed crust pepperoni pizza from Digorno.
Drinking...a coca cola classic. I've really got to give it up. Again.
Wearing...dark skinnies, 3/4 sleeved owl baseball top, green sandals
Feeling...pretty anxious and stressed about the week. My cousin, Haley, is getting married on Saturday, but the festivities start on Wednesday evening. As the maid of honor, I've got a lot to get done.

Weather...it's pretty blah looking outside. I figure it could probably rain at any moment.

Needing...absolutely nothing. I'm so content right now.
Wanting...some wild colored wedges.

Thinking...about and looking forward to my relaxing evening with my love tonight.
Enjoying...this coca cola that I shouldn't be drinking. Oh well! I've got a whole year to get skinny...right?

Tuning in on Tuesday

This has always been one of my favorite songs.

It's also a mantra I need to keep repeating to myself over and over and over again lately.

I've always been a worrier, but it seems to be getting the best of me lately.

This peachy pink kimono is a recent purchase of mine, and it's one of my favorites! So comfy!

I'm looking for a set of these with a better 'A' for the wedding and then later for my house. Any suggestions?

Hair Thoughts

I'm really getting bored of my hair.

I wanna make just a couple of changes.

Small ones: going a little lighter and getting some swoopy bangs.

Now, who knows if this will actually happen? I change my mind so often.

Here's my hairspiration:

Wedding Wednesday

Get this...

...I bought my wedding dress on Friday!! :)

I'm over the moon with excitement!! It's absolutely perfect and everything I could have ever wanted in a dress.

The top is the only part that will have to be altered which is also a definite plus. I've decided to base the whole wedding theme around the dress.

One stress down...several more to go! haha

Now to find some killer shoes!

Insta-update

Just a little peek into my life as of late...via Instagram.
It's seriously the best thing that's happened to me since I got my iPhone for Christmas!

I'm thankful for sarcastic friends. They keep life from being too boring.
I'm thankful for gel manicures. Oh my goodness. This was my first one and it's the bomb.com.
I am thankful for the $5 car wash. Because my car was NASTY. I did in fact spend, $12 on the super sparkle wash.
I am thankful for an awesome boss! This was my gift for Administrative Assitant Day. Check out those new initials :)
I'm thankful for sushi. And a hubby-to-be and friends who love it just as much. I may or may not have had it TWICE last week!
Lastly, I'm thankful for baby bumps. Especially the one that in particular belongs to my friend Cassie. That's little Sawyer Brooke Burgess there. Can't wait until October 12th when she makes her arrival!

Wedding Wednesday

That's where Jacob and I are tying the knot!!

Isn't it gorgeous?

The guests will walk down a cobblestone path which runs beside a small creek.
They'll get to two big trees, surrounded by hundreds of hydrangeas, and walk out into this beautiful clearing.
There's nothing but grass and water.

I'm so excited!

If you ask me who my all time favorite artist is, I'm gonna immediately tell you Elton John. Mat Kearney sure comes in at a close second though. His music moves me.

Enjoy!

Sweet Neice

My weekend was kicked off by hanging out with mine and Jacob's sweet neice, Corbyn Jayne.

She's beautiful, precious, hilarious, and always making me smile or laugh.

That's her 'Woody' face :)
My two favorite people in this whole wide world :)

Wedding Wednesday

So, next Friday, I'm going to try on wedding dresses again!!

I'm so stinking excited! The first experience was a bit overwhelming. Wanna know what my problem is? I like absolutely everything. No joke! The only thing about a wedding dress that I know I just do not like is a corset back. Those things are just a waste of time to me. haha

Here are a few dresses that I absolutely love...(you can tell how my taste varies):

This last one is my absolute favorite.

Easter Weekend

Easter Weekend was absolutely wonderful!
Easter is one of my favorite times of year. How blessed I am to serve a risen Savior!!

Good Friday was spent with GREAT friends. We went to Amy & David's to grill out (which turned into us making homemade pizza! haha). Jeselyn, Erica, Dee, Jon, Josh, and Eric also came to hang. It was an awesomely long evening...ending at 4 o'clock in the AM.

Saturday was spent lazing around with my love. That evening, we met up with our friends, Ben and Hannah, to attend two wedding showers. It's always nice seeing old friends and getting to catch up. At one of the showers I got to see lot of my very best friends from high school. That was quite the treat! I wish we could have spent more time with everyone.

Sunday, Jacob and I donned our Easter duds and attended the first ever service at the Willowbrook Hampton Cove campus. There were over 900 people at that location and service alone!! God does work! :)
Jacob and I can't wait to get involved and watch this campus flourish.

The rest of Easter Sunday was spent eating good food and watching Corbyn Jayne hunt Easter eggs for the first time. She's just the most PRECIOUS thing. I'm gonna spoil her to pieces. Promise!

Wedding Wednesday

Only 374 days to go until I become Mrs. Jacob Russell!!

I seriously wish it was this weekend.

I'm glad I've got a year to plan my dream wedding, but I'm so excited about starting our life together.
I haven't lived away from home in over 5 years. I'm itching for that independence again.

I'm ready to start cooking. (Yes, even though everyone knows I'm no domestic diva, I'm planning on doing everything in power to become one.) I'm ready to start keeping house.

I'm really ready to register...but that can't happen until at LEAST the fall.

I can't wait to become Anna Russell.

Ahh...hear how great that sounds? :)

I may or may not have a huge crush on Luke Bryan.

That man can MOVE!

Wedding Wednesday

This is what I'm pulling wedding inspiration from lately...

I absolutely love these sourdough BLT bites. I'm currently thinking I want everything to be bite sized and finger foods at my reception.

I absolutely love this dress for bridesmaids...I just wish it were a little longer.

Ombre cake? Yes, please.

I'm totally digging the ruffles on this wedding cake. I haven't quite sold Jacob on the idea of ruffles yet though. haha

Isn't this dress just dreamy? I love it!

This is the look I'm going for with invitations. I love the simplicity of it all.

Umm...definitely having this sign for my photo booth!

You all know I love me some succulents. Isn't this handsome?

Sweet Toomer's groom's cake

This is a DIY garter. Can you believe it?!

Wouldn't that make a statement as an entrance? I think it's gorgeous.

Simplicity. I love it.

Another handmade garter. I think I'll definitely go this route. So much prettier than all the generic ones out there.
