My sweet brother came by work to see me Friday :)

His visits always make my day!

In Walmart Saturday morning, Erica and I got to witness extreme couponing at it's MOST extreme! This guy (yes, you read that correctly...guy) had two full buggies that had already been checked, these two buggies, and everything that you see on the conveyor belt. And he had a coupon for every single item. Ridiculous.

I spent Saturday afternoon experimenting with fabric and came up with this necklace. My brother is modeling it.

Above is the final product. I was quite pleased :)

I went to dinner at Los Arcos with Cassie and April. April ordered that ginormous margarita. I mean, seriously. It was a fishbowl. I expected to see Nemo lazing about while she sipped.

Sunday morning drive to Huntsville

After church, Jacob and I promptly fell asleep and slept until 4:30. It was great and horrible all at the same time.

He makes me smile :)

Dinner started with a nice glass of OJ...

cinnamon oatmeal...

and grilled cheese sandwiches. (Mine were Miracle Whip free, no worries.)

New Years Eve

These are just a few of the pictures that I took on NYE. We spent the evening with our nearest and dearest at the Roeder household. We ate, the boys played cornhole, and the girls talked.

It really was the most perfect, laidback evening.

Little Facts

I just thought I'd share 5 random little facts about ME today...obviously.

1. Sometimes, I love getting ready and skimping on the eyeliner. And by skimping, I mean not wearing any at all! I feel like it gives me a fresh, soft look. And I'm loving it (and rockin' it today!)!
2. Reading blogs is one of my most favorite things to do every day. It's me time. And a relish it.
3. I am a terrible cook. That being said, I love to cook. Honestly! I can't wait to have my own kitchen to cook in. I just feel like I'm more comfortable when I don't feel the pressures of having to immediately clean or make sure that I am putting things back in the right place while I'm in someone else's kitchen.
4. I wear my great great grandmother, Carrie's, gold wedding band around my right pointer finger. It never comes off.
5. I haven't had my nails polished in over a week. This feels weird. Wildly, insanely weird.

This is going to be a very sporatic post. Meaning, I'm gonna jump around all over the place! 

You've been warned.

• I promise to put up pictures of New Years Eve and Jacob's birthday asap. Just think about it though, when my pictures get posted, you'll probably have already been burnt out on seeing other pictures NYE photos...and mine will seem fresher, right? (At least that's the reason I am giving for the delay!)
• Part of the reason have been being such a crummy blogger the past few days is because I'm sick. I NEVER get sick! I woke up Saturday morning with the worst sinus infection/head cold I've ever experienced. By Sunday night, it was deep in my chest making breathing require more effort. Alas, it got worse, but today I am on the up and up. Hopefully I'll be over this nasty crud soon.
• The weather here has been awful lately. Don't get me wrong...I don't mind the cold at all. Actually, I welcome it (I love cold weather clothes=layers)! When the temperature goes from 60 degrees one day to 40 the next and then back up to 60 degrees again, it makes Anna a sick gal.
• You all saw my video I posted yesterday *HOPEFULLY* of the trailer for The Vow with Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams, right? I absolutely cannot wait until that movie comes out!! Jacob and I usually plan a very low key celebration for Valentine's Day, but I think we may have to make plans to go see that movie. I cried during the previews. haha That only assures me the movie will be great.
• I went shopping Monday (yes, while I was sick) and was sorely disappointed. I had a giftcard to Forever21, but I had a hard time finding things I liked. Then, when I went to try everything on, I ended up with one shirt. I did get a rockin' bag though. And I scored two ballin' bras from VS's semi-annual sale.
• Do you play Words with Friends? Well, you should. I'm currently addicted.
• Wanna know another addiction? That'd be The Hunger Games. I just started the third book Mockingjay last night, and I have to say I'm a tad bit sad the triology is almost over. Katniss is my hero.
• Everyone is blogging about their New Year's resolutions. Confession: I NEVER make resolutions. Another Confession? I made one this year. I got to thinking...I work in the court system and every person I come into contact with is a person that I can show the love of Christ to. I have made a resolution to be nicer to the people I see while I am working. You can only imagine how much discipline it takes to not back talk someone who's just cussed you out. I lose it sometimes though. I have really got to work on not losing my temper and keeping a level and encouraging tone for all those I come into contact with. I am going to be kinder in 2012. :)
• You should all check out my friend, Sara's, blog. She's made a couple of resolutions herself. Give her some encouragement!
• I just watched the Bachelor last night and my favorites are: Lyndzie (that rode in on the horse) and Kacie B. Have you got your favorites picked out yet?

Back to the daily grind...there are cases to be filed away...

Tuning in On Tuesday

I am just in a 'take me back' kinda mood today.

That, PLUS, I just wanna be in bed on this cold cold COLD Tuesday (That's really my Monday of the week.)!

I'm almost finished with Catching Fire (the 2nd book in the Hunger Games series), and I don't wanna do anything but read.

Sistas

Yesterday, my friend Katherine came up to Marshall County from Auburn (where she's in vet school). She's staying with Erica for the weekend, so after I got off work we headed to The Rock House Eatery for dinner and to catch up.

I only took two pictures of the evening. The one above doesn't do justice to the meal we had last night. It was delicious! We got a bottle of Le Drunk Rooster Chardonnay (yes, we chose that selection of wine purely for its name!) and split it three ways. I had the Pasta Susanna which is fettucini noodles, sundried tomatoes, and scallions in a warm creamy wine sauce. It was perfection. Seriously. After catching up at dinner, we headed to Guntersville's new ice cream shoppe, Clevenger's Creamery. It was divine. The Clevenger's make all the ice cream themselves! My vanilla bean was surely the best I've ever had.

After our tummies were stuffed we headed back to Erica's. I unfortunately had to come to work this morning, so I didn't get to sleepover. In true sleepover fashion though, Kat decided to try a fishtail braid on my hair. We were all pleased with the results. I mean, it was her very first try. Awesome, right?!

Last night was a GREAT night! I am really looking forward to hanging with Jake and Anna tonight (they live in Georgia), and then the whole crew at the Roeder's for New Years Eve!

Jacob's birthday is New Years Day...so I am sure posting will be quite scarce this weekend!

Tortora's spinach and feta pizza was on the menu for dinner last night.

Mine and Jacob's night was spent playing on our kindle fires and watching Sons of Anarchy.

Christmas Glimpse

Everyone knows that Christmas is always about looking thru old photos...right? haha At least that's what we do when Haley, Sabrina, and I get together on Christmas Day. We had a fun time reminiscing. (How funny is it that our Mawmaw ALWAYS bought us matching outfits?!)

This is technically a day after Christmas shot (made with Instagram...my new favorite obsession). I am always sad to see the tree go.

What you see above is Gran's famous tsunami cake. Take my word for it...delish.

It is always so much fun getting the tree decorated at work! I know we still haven't celebrated Thanksgiving yet, but doing the Christmas tree before we leave means we'll have a festive atmosphere when we return from Thanksgiving.

I liked my blinged out cross. Jacob said it made me look gangsta.

Delana brought us sweet treats at lunch. I love the chicks, ducks, and bunnies around Easter, so I was ecstatic about the Merry Mix!

My view at 4:30. It was a rainy one yesterday afternoon.

Sweet sweet boy. He's only shirtless because I was scratching his back while we watched Terra Nova. He believes it is more effective when his shirt is off.

I've started reading the Calder series again.

Yesterday in Pictures

We started decorating the Christmas tree at work. I'm so very excited about Christmas. I've just got two or three more things on my list to get!!

Jacob and I had a mini date last night. We went Christmas shopping, had dinner at Zaxby's (you can see what I had for supper!), and then we went to see Immortals. Can I just say...it was AWESOME! I absolutely loved it. I'm into the whole mythology thing though. It was right up my ally.

I included the picture of Jacob's beard for two reasons:

a.) because I loved his new mint green shirt!

b.) because his beard has become a bit of a legend. That's how everyone recognizes him. That's the first thing people always comment on. And I may or may not love scratching it!

dinner- water, waffle, biscuit, 2 slices of bacon, hashbrowns, 2 eggs (scrambled)

Monday, November 14th...

breakfast- water, handful of parmesan pretzel chips

lunch- sandwich (two slices of wheat bread, turkey pepperonis, one slice of colby jack cheese), hadful of sour cream & cheddar potato chips, water

dinner- coca cola classic, 3 slices of pizza (pepperoni, onions, and sausage)

dessert- chocolate pudding cup

Heading Home

This weekend was well worth the four hour (made seven hour because of Atlanta traffic) trip to Athens, Georgia even if we got completely slaughtered by the Dawns. We got to visit with Jake and Anna, Ben and Hannah, and all the Williams clan.  Moods were lifted last night shortly after Auburn's loss with a trip to the local haunt, JR's.  After a midnight trip to Pita Pit, we were all feeling pretty good. Jacob and I headed back home early this morning. I'll be enjoying the above view for the next three hours...dreaming of my comfy bed and completing our to do list for Christmas gifts.
